3.5 – DEPARTURE SEPARATION
3.5.1 The following describes the time-based separation used between successive departing flights.
3.5.2 These time intervals between departure times prevent the following:
- aircraft of different operating speeds causing a loss of separation due to a faster aircraft departed right after a slower aircraft.
- The 2nd aircraft to enter any possible (simulated) wake turbulence left behind by the aircraft ahead.
3.5.3 It works as follows:
