ATC Training Getting Started

Here is your guide to become a virtual Air Traffic Controller.

Working as an Air Traffic Controller is not necessarily complicated, but it requires a tremendous amount of time and dedication.
There are unfortunately no shortcuts and if you not prepared to learn a significant amount of information, then we do not recommend proceeding with the career as a virtual ATC

Most divisions on IVAO will create their own documentation and procedures, in order to ensure alignment with the real world procedures in the respective countries.
Thus each division might do things slightly differently from the next one.
For the most part Radio Telephony (the manner in which you communicate on the radio) and Separation Standards (how we keep aircraft apart from each other) are pretty much the same.

Your progression as an ATC is as follows

1) Download Aurora (IVAO ATC Software), which can be found HERE
